WELCOME! Bienvenido! Svaagat! Huanying! Mrhbaan! Bagrisn!…
With a lot of visits from friends and customers, old and new, the most frequently asked question is,
“Are you still open?”
The answer is YES!
Carrefour Gardens has been known for the past couple of decades as, “Crossroads Nurseries”.
The old Crossroads is in the process of being given a “facelift”, and has been rebranded, “Carrefour Gardens”.
Carrefour means “Crossroads” in French.
A bit of an international flair for an old girl who has stood on that property since the late 1800’s. We are referring of course to the beautiful old barn that has been the center point of the property.
The now owner, Joe Polito III, grew up learning the business that his parents Joe and Gail started back in the 1980.
"What is Carrefour Gardens going to be?”
is the next most common question people are asking.
The answer is simply this: A beautiful escape from the rigors of day to day pressures., an ever-changing landscape of beautiful gardens designed by Joe and his team. A place for Joe to showcase his talent in creating magnificent spaces that look as though they have been there a lifetime.
Around each twist and turn, you’ll find a new fountain, reflecting pool or koi pond tucked into pocket gardens and small hidden sanctuaries, for visitors to meander through and enjoy.
“Want to take that feeling home?”
Ask Joe to recreate it in your yard. He is an accomplished landscape designer and has an amazing team that can bring that sense of tranquility to your property.
The old barn will house a PA Dutch natural market full of farm-fresh dairy products, dried good, organic and natural produce from local farms, a small herbal apothecary that will offer herbs and teas along with vitamins, tinctures, salves and balms.
Upstairs in the barn there is the hope of one day offering handcrafted ice cream, a small cafe with coffee from small artisan roasters, and perhaps even the hope of a small sandwich shop.
The lower floor, besides offering market goods will also offer small seasonal gift items.
“When will this all happen?”
Carrefour Gardens is in an evolutionary process and will be ever changing. The gardens, along with their meandering pathways will take time to develop, and will be forever changing and evolving with the seasons.
Visitors are encouraged to wander around and enjoy the experience with family and friends.
Carrefour Gardens will offer seasonal treats for visitors, which can be found on this website.
Joe desires Carrefour Gardens to not be just another garden center or farm market, but to become a regular destination for all to enjoy.
"Is Carrefour Gardens still a nursery?”
Yes!
The nursery area of Carrefour Gardens will offer all types of annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees, as well as seasonal plants, holiday greens, wreaths and trees.
In the Spring we hope to offer organic vegetable plants as well as fruit trees, and so much more
Keep an eye on our website for the Grand Opening and to follow along with our renovations. New pictures will be available as projects move forward.
Vendors for our market will be announced as they join the Carrefour Gardens team, and we get closer to the opening, so stay tuned…
We look forward to creating a very special escape for you to come and visit.
